About the Role

About the Role

The Opportunity

You'll personally build, test and maintain AI-assisted reconciliation workflows for RGG's accounting team supporting Puffy.com, a $1Billion+ e-commerce brand. Reporting to Raj KV, Accounting Manager, you'll own workflow implementation and validation within agreed priorities while accountants retain accounting treatment and final reconciliation sign-off.

The Problems You'll Own

1. Primary: Reliable reconciliation without repetitive comparison

Accounting reconciliations bring together source files with different layouts and levels of organisation. Repeated manual comparison and exception review compete with close work, while an unchecked automated match can create a different problem. The challenge is dependable reconciliation preparation and review with less total human effort, without losing accounting judgment.

2. Secondary: Improvements that keep working after handover

A useful trial has limited value if accountants cannot understand its output, repeat it on a later cycle or see what needs review. The challenge is making tested workflows usable and maintainable by the team beyond the first successful run.

Resources Provided

You’ll have access to our latest company-provided AI tools, including ChatGPT, Claude, multiple AI agents, bots, plugins, AI projects, and automations through platforms such as n8n. You’ll also receive the department tools, relevant data, assets and specialist support needed to deliver your work. We expect you to use these resources to automate routine work and deliver high-quality results quickly.

Decision-making authority:

You'll own workflow delivery and recommendations within agreed accounting priorities and approval boundaries.

1. You can decide independently: Choose working methods for approved, low-risk analysis and testing; propose matching and exception approaches; reject or refine AI outputs that do not meet the agreed standard; and prepare evidence-backed recommendations for review.

2. Approval required: Agree workflow priorities, scope and acceptance criteria with Raj and the accountants who own the work. Obtain approval for data access, changes to live accounting processes or systems, spending, and any consequential use of a workflow's output.

Accountants retain accounting treatment and final reconciliation sign-off.

Who You'll Work With

Meet the team you'd be working with, and what you'd work on together:

Raj KV

Accounting Manager

Your direct manager

You'd agree workflow priorities, scope and acceptance standards with Raj, review test evidence and decide together when a checked improvement is ready for accountants to use. You'd retain ownership of the implementation while accounting decisions remain with the accountants.

Alagusivagami Thenappan

Junior Accountant

Your day-to-day accounting partner

You'd work with Alagu on source-file preparation and routine reconciliation steps, test whether outputs and instructions are clear, and refine the handover so the workflow can be repeated.

Rooban Sappani

AI Workflow Specialist

Your AI workflow counterpart

You'd work with Rooban through repeated build-and-test iterations, drawing on his broader cross-team workflow experience while personally owning the accounting implementation. Together, you'd refine the workflow and prepare it for use with the accountants.

Joenas Embuscado

Senior Accountant L2

Your accounting review partner

You'd work with Joenas to understand current reconciliations and the accounting decisions the workflow needs to support. You'd check matching and exception outputs together, with accounting treatment and sign-off remaining with the designated accountants.

What You'll Own

Core Responsibilities

  • Map the work: With accountants, define the purpose, sources, matching rules, handoffs and review decisions for a selected reconciliation in a testable workflow specification.

  • Build the workflow: Use AI to create and refine reusable data preparation, comparison and exception outputs; decide how to handle differing source structures and ambiguous matches.

  • Test the result: Compare outputs with source records and accountant-reviewed examples, investigate exceptions and correct errors before recommending use.

  • Make review practical: Produce traceable reconciliation outputs that separate matched items from items needing accountant judgment, with clear references back to source records.

  • Hand over and maintain: Use AI to draft operating instructions and test notes, check them with users, monitor subsequent runs and own fixes through resolution.

  • Show the effect: Compare quality and total human effort on comparable runs, including preparation, review, correction and maintenance. Report elapsed turnaround separately.

Outcomes

  • Working improvements: Deliver working accounting workflows and checked outputs that accountants can use.

  • Review-ready reconciliations: Give accountants accurate, source-linked results with clear exceptions and the information needed to review them.

  • Repeatable delivery: Deliver reliable repeat runs on later accounting cycles, with the required checks.

  • Usable handover: Ensure accountants understand the outputs, can follow the instructions and know what needs their judgment.

  • Evidence-backed improvement: Show whether quality improves and total human effort falls on comparable runs, without presenting expected savings as measured results.

Quality Standards

  • Check against sources: Validate preparation, matching and exception outputs against source records and accountant-reviewed examples.

  • Keep results traceable: Preserve source references and make the basis for matches, exceptions and corrections understandable to reviewers.

  • Challenge AI outputs: Investigate discrepancies, reject or refine unsupported results and rerun checks before relying on the final output.

  • Protect accounting judgment: Keep accounting treatment and final reconciliation sign-off with accountants; obtain required approval before consequential use or live changes.

  • Measure the full result: Put quality first and count preparation, review, correction, rework, handover and ongoing maintenance when comparing human effort.

Delivery Pace

  • Contribute early: Start with an agreed bounded reconciliation and turn the current process into a testable workflow.

  • Iterate promptly: Turn around useful improvements quickly with accountants and Rooban, without bypassing source checks or approvals.

  • Test before use: Bring the working implementation, checked outputs and unresolved accounting questions to the agreed review.

  • Complete the handover: Deliver operating instructions, test notes and a clear exception route alongside the accepted workflow.

  • Own recurring delivery: Monitor later runs and resolve defects and exceptions until the team can use the workflow reliably.

What You Bring

What you must demonstrate

  • Personal AI workflow delivery: Hands-on delivery of reusable AI-assisted or automated business workflows, with personal responsibility for testing and improving their outputs.

  • Source comparison and matching: Ability to prepare and compare differently structured spreadsheet or exported data, define matching logic and present exceptions for review.

  • Accounting literacy: Practical understanding of ecommerce reconciliations sufficient to work with accountants on source records, controls and traceability.

  • Validation and judgment: Sound judgment in checking generated outputs, investigating discrepancies and communicating what the workflow can and cannot support.

  • Documentation and adoption: Ability to document a workflow clearly and work with users until they can repeat it.

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Additional advantages

  • Ecommerce processes: Experience improving recurring ecommerce processes with multiple data sources.

  • Ongoing improvement: Experience maintaining a workflow after handover and measuring quality and total human effort over repeat runs.

  • Source connections: Familiarity connecting business data sources through approved workflow tools or simple scripts.

Leaders Club opened a door I did not expect. I spend six days a week doing HIIT and strength training at whichever venue I feel like that day, across the UAE and internationally. Then I get to unwind with recovery sessions and pool days at luxury resorts. Staying active became easier, more enjoyable and part of my everyday life.

For me, receiving that recognition also changed how I think about giving recognition. It reminded me that people should know when the way they are contributing is making a difference.

I’ve used the membership for weekend stays at a resort in Ras Al Khaimah. What I value is that a proper break doesn't need annual leave or a flight — you check in on a Friday and come back genuinely reset.

On your own, a standard is something you hold. Leading, it’s something you hand over, and you find out it held even when you’re not in the room. Leaders Club is recognition of that impact for me.

Leaders Club feels special because it’s not something you apply for or ask to be part of — it’s something you earn. Being recognized directly by our CEO meant a lot to me. And beyond the recognition, it’s genuinely upgraded my life outside work too, from great fitness classes and trainers to some of the best beach clubs and wellness experiences in the UAE. One of my favorite memories so far was spending the day at the infinity pool with Burj views.

I’ve used the wellness membership as a way to stay active and make more time for my wellbeing. I appreciate the flexibility and easy access to options that fit into my routine and help me maintain a good balance between work, health, and personal time.

One part I value about Leaders Club is having a group of people across the business whose perspective I trust. It gives me people outside my immediate team to speak to when I want a different view on something.

For me, the membership is most useful for the access it gives me to experiences around the city. It means I’m more likely to explore places I probably wouldn’t make time for as often otherwise.

A Promise from Our CEO

A Promise from Our CEO

Arthur Andreasyan, Puffy CEO, Founder & Forbes Council Member

Hi there,

If you're reading this, you're probably asking whether Puffy is the right place for your next chapter. I founded Puffy in 2017 after a simple question: "What would it feel like to sleep on a cloud?" That question became a business, and I wanted to build a company where ambitious people could grow with us.

That same mindset is why we became AI-first in December 2023, well before it became a standard way of working. We move quickly, stay relentless and hungry, question the usual way of doing things, and give people real ownership. We believe a focused team can outperform much larger companies. What matters here is the quality of your work, the decisions you make, the problems you solve before anyone asks, and the impact you create.

If you join us, I'll expect a lot from you, and I'll make sure you have the trust, context, and support to do meaningful work. If that kind of challenge excites you, I'd be glad to have you build Puffy with us.

Looking forward to working with you,

Why do I have to take an online test if I have the relevant skills and experience?

We’d love to see how you put your skills and experience into practice. Through role-based questions and a technical case study, you can show us how you think and solve problems while getting a feel for the work at Puffy. We use consistent criteria for candidates applying to the same role, giving you a fair opportunity to demonstrate your strengths.

The invitation link for the online test only expires once the position is filled. However, our hiring process moves quickly, so we highly recommend you complete it as soon as you can.

Please note these important details:

  • Session Time: Once started, the test has a 4-hour inactivity timer before it auto-submits your answers.

  • Returning Candidates: If you applied for this same role within the last 6 months, our system may use your previous assessment score. In this case, you may be taken directly to a confirmation page.

  • Top Tip: The invitation email may go to your spam or junk folder, so please check there if you haven't received it.

If you still encounter any issues, please reach out to us at careers@puffy.com.
