About the Role

About the Role

The Opportunity

You'll transform how Finance operates for Puffy.com, a $1Billion+ e-commerce brand, improving procure-to-pay and record-to-report work while turning forecasts and margin analysis into clear business recommendations. Reporting to the Accounting Manager / Finance Lead and partnering directly with the Chief of Staff, you'll own business-finance delivery, agreed workflow improvements and delegated operational reviews; the Finance Lead retains accounting sign-off. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role with no direct reports, combining commercial judgment, accounting depth and AI-assisted delivery with specialist implementation support.

The Problems You'll Own

1. Primary: Release Finance capacity without weakening controls

Recurring work and manual reviews across procure-to-pay and record-to-report consume Finance capacity and create review bottlenecks. You'll identify the causes and implement improvements that reduce rework and release time while preserving financial accuracy, approvals and accountability.

2. Secondary: Turn financial analysis into business action

Recurring delivery limits the team's capacity for proactive forecasting and margin analysis. You'll build a reliable forward view of performance, investigate margin and cost issues, and turn findings into quantified recommendations that business leaders can act on.

Resources Provided

You’ll have access to our latest company-provided AI tools, including ChatGPT, Claude, multiple AI agents, bots, plugins, AI projects, and automations through platforms such as n8n. You’ll also receive the department tools, relevant data, assets and specialist support needed to deliver your work. We expect you to use these resources to automate routine work and deliver high-quality results quickly.

Decision-making authority:

You'll own the work and recommendations within agreed Finance priorities and delegated control scope.

1. You can decide independently: Choose analytical methods and organise your work using approved tools and authorised data; investigate forecast and margin issues; and recommend practical workflow improvements.

2. Approval required: Agree changes to priorities, delegated responsibilities and resources with the Finance Lead. Obtain approval before spending, purchasing tools, sharing sensitive data externally, or changing live systems, controls or approval routes.

The Finance Lead retains accounting sign-off and technical and compliance accountability. Existing accountants retain routine processing and their reporting lines.

Who You'll Work With

Meet the team you'd be working with, and what you'd work on together:

Raj KV

Accounting Manager

Your direct manager

You'll agree Finance priorities, delegated reviews and the transformation plan with Raj. He retains overall Finance leadership and accounting sign-off while you own agreed improvements and develop reliable review and backup coverage.

Sumit Kumar

Chief of Staff

Your business-finance partner

You'll work with Sumit on forecasts, margin analysis and the financial case behind commercial decisions. You'll quantify opportunities, challenge assumptions and track agreed actions while he guides business priorities.

Rooban Sappani

AI Workflow Specialist

Your AI and workflow implementation partner

You’ll bring the Finance process knowledge, requirements and acceptance criteria; AI Workflow Specialist will support AI and workflow implementation. Together, you’ll test outputs, establish appropriate human checks and help the team adopt reliable ways of working.

Rohit Singwal

Analytics Manager

Your data and analytics partner

You’ll collaborate on the data and analysis behind forecasts and profitability recommendations, aligning business metrics with financial records and investigating discrepancies so recommendations rest on reliable evidence.

What You'll Own

Finance Responsibilities

  • Improve Finance workflows: Diagnose bottlenecks across procure-to-pay and record-to-report. Redesign purchasing and payment controls, reconciliations, close and reporting with clear owners, controls and measures of success.

  • Own delegated controls: Review purchase orders, receipt evidence, invoice matching, approvals and payment readiness. Resolve exceptions with Accounting, Procurement and Operations, assigning evidence requirements, owners and resolution dates.

  • Own forecasting and commercial analysis: Maintain the rolling P&L forecast, test volume, mix, pricing, supplier-cost and freight assumptions, and analyse SKU, channel and entity profitability against reconciled actuals. Bring quantified recommendations to the Chief of Staff and business owners.

  • Implement reliable improvements: Define Finance requirements and acceptance criteria for AI-assisted or automated changes, working with specialists on implementation. Validate outputs against source records, establish monitoring and recovery procedures, and measure net time released and rework, including maintenance effort.

  • Build review capacity: Take on delegated control and reconciliation reviews, document procedures, coach operators and train backups. Develop accounting and close backup in agreed stages; expand Finale and supplier-held stock responsibilities only when scope, capacity and handover readiness are agreed. The Finance Lead retains accounting sign-off and technical and compliance accountability.

Finance Outcomes

  • A useful forward view: Deliver a first rolling forecast, margin diagnosis and quantified recommendations by day 30, with assumptions and data gaps clearly identified.

  • Capacity released: Put agreed workflow improvements into recurring use and show whether they reduce rework and release Finance time after ongoing review and maintenance effort is counted.

  • Stronger cost and payment controls: Improve the reliability of delegated procure-to-pay reviews, vendor reconciliations, inventory and landed-cost records, and their connection to COGS and margins.

  • Commercial actions followed through: Turn forecast and profitability findings into decisions with business owners, then track agreed margin and cost actions through to their financial outcomes.

  • Dependable coverage: Establish documented reviews, trained backups and staged handovers so improved workflows continue to run reliably without changing existing accountants’ routine processing or reporting lines.

Quality Standards

  • Make analysis auditable: Reconcile material forecast, margin and management-reporting figures to source and accounting records. Show the assumptions, data gaps and checks behind each recommendation.

  • Protect control integrity: Keep purchase, payment and close approvals intact. Record exceptions with the evidence needed, a clear owner and a resolution date.

  • Challenge AI-assisted work: Check AI outputs and proposed changes before relying on them. Each proposal should include an AI review link showing what was challenged and how you addressed it; you remain accountable for the final numbers and recommendation.

  • Design for recurring use: Test changes against real records and exceptions, with human review, monitoring and recovery procedures that the Finance team can sustain after handover.

  • Measure the full result: Report improvements using net time released and reduced rework, including preparation, review, correction and ongoing maintenance rather than only the time saved by an automated step.

Delivery Pace

  • Contribute from week one: Start gathering forecast and margin inputs with business owners while learning the existing Finance workflows and controls.

  • Deliver by day 30: Provide the first forecast, margin diagnosis and quantified recommendations in time to inform business decisions.

  • Keep recurring work moving: Complete delegated reviews and forecast updates against agreed Finance cycles, with fast turnaround that does not bypass required checks or approvals.

  • Raise issues early: Flag material risks, missing inputs and unresolved exceptions promptly, with their likely impact and a recommended next action.

  • Expand scope deliberately: Document the work and establish backup coverage as improvements enter regular use. Take on wider inventory and close responsibilities in agreed phases, subject to readiness and the Finance Lead’s delegated boundaries.

What You Bring

What you must demonstrate

  • Relevant experience: At least 5 years in finance and accounting, with responsibility for financial delivery, controls and business analysis.

  • Finance transformation: Personally delivered Finance process improvements into recurring use and measured the results, whether through redesign, systems, automation or AI.

  • Business-finance ownership: Maintained forecasts, challenged assumptions and taken margin or cost recommendations through to business decisions.

  • Accounting and controls: Owned or reviewed controls and reconciliations, with sound knowledge of procure-to-pay, record-to-report, inventory, landed costs, COGS and close.

  • Reporting: Built transparent, auditable spreadsheets, validated source data and reconciled management figures to accounting records.

  • Ownership and influence: Secured inputs and action across functions, communicated with leaders and escalated issues with a recommendation.

  • Practical AI judgment: Used AI critically, validated outputs and applied appropriate human review and financial controls. Previous transformation projects need not have used AI.

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Additional advantages

  • Experience in inventory-led, e-commerce, retail or multi-entity businesses.

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks, Zoho or comparable accounting systems.

  • Experience with Finale or similar inventory platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with AI tools, workflow automation or querying and integration tools used in Finance.

  • CA, ACCA, CMA or comparable financial training.

Leaders Club opened a door I did not expect. I spend six days a week doing HIIT and strength training at whichever venue I feel like that day, across the UAE and internationally. Then I get to unwind with recovery sessions and pool days at luxury resorts. Staying active became easier, more enjoyable and part of my everyday life.

For me, receiving that recognition also changed how I think about giving recognition. It reminded me that people should know when the way they are contributing is making a difference.

Sumit Kumar

I’ve used the membership for weekend stays at a resort in Ras Al Khaimah. What I value is that a proper break doesn't need annual leave or a flight — you check in on a Friday and come back genuinely reset.

Wilson Ang

On your own, a standard is something you hold. Leading, it’s something you hand over, and you find out it held even when you’re not in the room. Leaders Club is recognition of that impact for me.

Yash Mehta

VP, Digital Experience & Conversion

Leaders Club feels special because it’s not something you apply for or ask to be part of — it’s something you earn. Being recognized directly by our CEO meant a lot to me. And beyond the recognition, it’s genuinely upgraded my life outside work too, from great fitness classes and trainers to some of the best beach clubs and wellness experiences in the UAE. One of my favorite memories so far was spending the day at the infinity pool with Burj views.

I’ve used the wellness membership as a way to stay active and make more time for my wellbeing. I appreciate the flexibility and easy access to options that fit into my routine and help me maintain a good balance between work, health, and personal time.

Himanshu Dhumal

One part I value about Leaders Club is having a group of people across the business whose perspective I trust. It gives me people outside my immediate team to speak to when I want a different view on something.

Arman Gevorgyan

For me, the membership is most useful for the access it gives me to experiences around the city. It means I’m more likely to explore places I probably wouldn’t make time for as often otherwise.

A Promise from Our CEO

A Promise from Our CEO

Arthur Andreasyan, Puffy CEO, Founder & Forbes Council Member

Hi there,

If you're reading this, you're probably asking whether Puffy is the right place for your next chapter. I founded Puffy in 2017 after a simple question: "What would it feel like to sleep on a cloud?" That question became a business, and I wanted to build a company where ambitious people could grow with us.

That same mindset is why we became AI-first in December 2023, well before it became a standard way of working. We move quickly, stay relentless and hungry, question the usual way of doing things, and give people real ownership. We believe a focused team can outperform much larger companies. What matters here is the quality of your work, the decisions you make, the problems you solve before anyone asks, and the impact you create.

If you join us, I'll expect a lot from you, and I'll make sure you have the trust, context, and support to do meaningful work. If that kind of challenge excites you, I'd be glad to have you build Puffy with us.

Looking forward to working with you,

ArthurA
