About the Role

About the Role

The Opportunity

You'll own legal delivery for Puffy.com, a $1Billion+ e-commerce brand, across Puffy, RGG, RGG Capital Family Office and the CEO's personal legal matters. Reporting directly to Arthur, CEO, you'll independently identify risks and produce practical, verified recommendations within agreed mandates and approval controls. This is a full-time, permanent, standalone in-house counsel position with no direct reports, combining hands-on AI-led production with specialist outside-counsel coordination and personal accountability for the result.

The Problems You'll Own

  1. Primary: Investment opportunity versus legal exposure

Family-office and investment work is the primary long-term focus of this role. Fund subscriptions, side letters, custody arrangements and lending terms can create restrictions and obligations that matter well beyond the initial transaction. The challenge is making those consequences clear before capital is committed, so the CEO can decide with a practical understanding of the risks.

  1. Secondary: Broad coverage without diluted ownership

The remit spans e-commerce, corporate matters, investments and the CEO's personal legal needs, with no internal legal team to divide the work. AI can accelerate production and outside counsel can supply specialist expertise, but neither removes the need for one accountable legal owner. The challenge is maintaining verified advice, clear priorities and completed follow-through across all three workstreams without urgent matters obscuring emerging risks.

Resources Provided

You’ll have access to our latest company-provided AI tools, including ChatGPT, Claude, multiple AI agents, bots, plugins, AI projects, and automations through platforms such as n8n. You’ll also receive the department tools, relevant data, assets and specialist support needed to deliver your work. We expect you to use these resources to automate routine work and deliver high-quality results quickly.

Decision-making authority

Operate independently within agreed business priorities, approved budgets, professional permissions and company controls.

  1. You can decide independently: Day-to-day legal review priorities and investigative questions; research, drafting and verification methods; which approved tools to use; internal workflow and template improvements; and low-risk internal trials using approved tools and authorized data. Draft and negotiate within agreed mandates, and direct approved outside counsel within its authorized scope and allocated budget.

  2. Approval required: Changes to agreed business priorities or material risk acceptance; commitments, settlements or litigation strategy outside your delegated mandate; new counsel engagements, tools, subscriptions or spend outside existing approval; changes to sensitive-data access, company policy or live workflows; and customer-facing experiments. Obtain CEO approval and any required signatory or control-owner approval before proceeding.

Give an independent legal recommendation, including when not to proceed, and escalate material unresolved risks promptly. Legal ownership does not itself confer authority to sign contracts, deploy capital, move funds, waive controls or change commercial terms. Execution remains subject to the relevant approval and delegation.

Who You'll Work With

Meet the team you'd be working with, and what you'd work on together:

Arthur Andreasyan

CEO & Founder

Your direct reporting manager

You'd bring Arthur clear recommendations on business, investment and personal legal matters, with no layers between your advice and the decision.

Ajay Chauhan

Head of HR

Your people and policy partner

You'd work with Ajay on employment-related legal questions and people policies, coordinating specialist local advice where needed.

Himanshu Dhumal

Director of Marketing

Your marketing compliance partner

You'd work with Himanshu on advertising claims, promotions and consumer-facing terms, turning legal findings into practical corrections.

What You'll Own

Legal Responsibilities

  • E-commerce and corporate: Personally draft, review and negotiate vendor, retail and affiliate agreements. Support transactions and due diligence; coordinate consumer disputes, regulatory inquiries and litigation with outside counsel.

  • Family office and investments: Own the primary long-term legal workstream. Review and negotiate fund subscriptions, side letters and limited-partner terms before capital deployment.

  • CEO personal legal matters: Manage personal contracts, disputes and cross-border legal coordination, working with appropriate asset-protection, estate, immigration and tax specialists.

  • AI-led production: Use AI as the primary production method for substantive document comparison, legal research synthesis, drafting, risk analysis and executive reporting within approved confidentiality controls. Tool familiarity or grammar-only use is insufficient.

Legal Outcomes

  • Every month: Deliver a Legal Exposure Audit for CEO review covering all three workstreams: material risks, upcoming deadlines, actions, unresolved decisions and proactive recommendations.

  • Every quarter: Deliver a compliance sweep of product pages, checkout, pricing, advertising and terms, with evidence-backed priorities, corrective actions and follow-through.

  • Every quarter: Review investment documents, custody arrangements, loan covenants and counterparty controls. Make restrictions, obligations and material risks explicit in decision-ready advice and contract revisions.

  • Within your first 90 days: Independently identify and flag at least five material legal risks or improvement areas that were not assigned, supported by evidence and practical recommendations.

Quality Standards

  • Verify substantive work: Check decisive authorities, clauses, calculations, dates and versions against underlying sources. Distinguish facts from assumptions, including in AI-produced work.

  • Make advice usable: Deliver accurate, concise recommendations with verified sources and documents, clear priorities, a recommended action, an owner and a deadline.

  • Retain professional ownership: Own the recommendation, required approvals and final work. Operate within your permitted professional scope and engage appropriately qualified local counsel where needed.

  • Protect clear boundaries: Keep representation, conflicts, confidentiality and authority to act clear across company, family-office and CEO personal matters.

  • Close the loop: Confirm completion with evidence. Escalate unresolved dependencies rather than treating a handoff as resolution.

Delivery Pace

  • Contribute early: Start contributing to live matters during onboarding rather than waiting for a complete briefing.

  • Respond with urgency: Deliver fast turnaround against agreed, risk-sensitive deadlines. Raise urgent issues promptly and provide an actionable interim recommendation when facts are incomplete.

  • Flag delays early: Surface obstacles before deadlines are missed so the relevant decision-makers can act.

  • Improve delivery efficiency: Reduce elapsed turnaround and total human effort, including review, correction and handoff, without lowering quality or bypassing controls.

What You Bring

What you must demonstrate

  • A recognized law degree, such as a JD, LLB or equivalent, and qualification as a lawyer in good standing in at least one jurisdiction. U.S. bar admission is not required.

  • Typically 5-10 years of relevant legal experience, with the practical depth to operate without an internal legal team. Greater relevant experience is welcome. Demonstrate commercial drafting, proactive risk identification, cross-border coordination and management of multiple outside-counsel relationships.

  • Substantial hands-on AI legal work with examples of what you personally delivered, how you verified it and the outcome. Strong executive communication, discretion and follow-through.

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Additional advantages

  • U.S. experience is a plus, not a requirement.

  • Law-firm and in-house experience, investment or family-office exposure, and consumer-protection experience are advantages.

Your First 30 Days — Mapped Out For You

Your First 30 Days — Mapped Out For You

WEEK 1

— Land well

Gain approved access to legal documents, active matters and company AI tools, with confidentiality and permissions established before use. Asana training, and your role-specific AI-Native Starter Pack: what may and may not go into a model, how to verify authorities and clauses, and when to involve specialist counsel. Meet the CEO and relevant matter owners, and begin contributing to urgent live work.

WEEK 2

— Get the full picture

Review active matters, investment documents, commercial agreements and upcoming deadlines across all three workstreams. Examine available earlier advice, dispute outcomes and any unsuccessful approaches with the relevant stakeholders; identify open questions and confirm where specialist input is needed.

WEEK 3

— Start contributing

Take ownership of an agreed contract review or investment-document matter, using AI for substantive production and checking decisive details against the source. Coordinate any necessary specialist input and bring a clear recommendation and emerging risks to the CEO.

WEEK 4

— Your first ship

Deliver your first Legal Exposure Audit for CEO review, with material risks, deadlines, actions and unresolved decisions across all three workstreams. Share your early view of gaps in legal coverage and where the review and follow-through process could improve.

Leaders Club opened a door I did not expect. I spend six days a week doing HIIT and strength training at whichever venue I feel like that day, across the UAE and internationally. Then I get to unwind with recovery sessions and pool days at luxury resorts. Staying active became easier, more enjoyable and part of my everyday life.

For me, receiving that recognition also changed how I think about giving recognition. It reminded me that people should know when the way they are contributing is making a difference.

I’ve used the membership for weekend stays at a resort in Ras Al Khaimah. What I value is that a proper break doesn't need annual leave or a flight — you check in on a Friday and come back genuinely reset.

Wilson Ang

On your own, a standard is something you hold. Leading, it’s something you hand over, and you find out it held even when you’re not in the room. Leaders Club is recognition of that impact for me.

Yash Mehta

Leaders Club feels special because it’s not something you apply for or ask to be part of — it’s something you earn. Being recognised directly by our CEO meant a lot to me. And beyond the recognition, it’s genuinely upgraded my life outside work too, from great fitness classes and trainers to some of the best beach clubs and wellness experiences in the UAE. One of my favourite memories so far was spending the day at the infinity pool with Burj views.

Himanshu Dhumal

One part I value about Leaders Club is having a group of people across the business whose perspective I trust. It gives me people outside my immediate team to speak to when I want a different view on something.

Arman Gevorgyan

For me, the membership is most useful for the access it gives me to experiences around the city. It means I’m more likely to explore places I probably wouldn’t make time for as often otherwise.

Arthur Andreasyan, Puffy CEO, Founder & Forbes Council Member

Hi there,

If you're reading this, you're probably asking whether Puffy is the right place for your next chapter. I founded Puffy in 2017 after a simple question: "What would it feel like to sleep on a cloud?" That question became a business, and I wanted to build a company where ambitious people could grow with us.

That same mindset is why we became AI-first in December 2023, well before it became a standard way of working. We move quickly, stay relentless and hungry, question the usual way of doing things, and give people real ownership. We believe a focused team can outperform much larger companies. What matters here is the quality of your work, the decisions you make, the problems you solve before anyone asks, and the impact you create.

If you join us, I'll expect a lot from you, and I'll make sure you have the trust, context, and support to do meaningful work. If that kind of challenge excites you, I'd be glad to have you build Puffy with us.

Looking forward to working with you,

Why do I have to take an online test if I have the relevant skills and experience?

After a successful application review, we invite selected candidates to our online skills test. It's a consistent, structured way for you to demonstrate your skills, assessed against the same criteria as every other candidate.
