WHERE THIS ROLE CAN LEAD
Head of AI Transformation and Business Operations
VP, AI Transformation & Business Operations
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Career progression that takes 4-5 years elsewhere can happen in 1-2 years here for high performers.
Lead AI transformation across a $1Billion+ e-commerce brand. Turn better ways of working into measurable business results.
We've been AI-first since December 2023: A dedicated AI team already builds internal systems for production, and daily multi-turn AI conversations are part of how decisions are pressure-tested. You'll have a foundation to build on from day one.

The Opportunity
You'll lead the integration of AI into how Puffy operates across the business. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll identify valuable opportunities, redesign workflows, build practical solutions, and drive sustained adoption. You'll lead the AI transformation function, own its portfolio and priorities, and direct delivery capacity within agreed budgets. You must be able to build useful solutions yourself, direct specialist delivery where needed, and equip teams to run the resulting workflows independently.
The Mandate
Your mandate is to improve quality, speed, capacity, and commercial performance across the business, while reducing dependence on manual work and central specialists.
The Problems You'll Own
Primary: Turn AI capability into better business performance. Puffy already has a dedicated AI team building internal systems. Your challenge is to identify the highest-value opportunities across the business, simplify the underlying work, and deliver improvements whose value holds up after review, rework, and running costs.
Secondary: Make improvements work independently of you. Successful implementations need clear ownership, sustained adoption, and reliable operation. Equip teams to identify opportunities, use and adapt proven workflows, and resolve routine issues without depending on you or a central specialist for every request.
Who You'll Work With
Meet the team you'd be working with, and what you'd work on together:

CEO & Founder
You'd report to him directly
You'll agree the business outcomes and investment priorities for AI transformation, with his sponsorship to redesign workflows across functions and resolve competing priorities. You'll bring him a concise view of realized impact, delivery progress, material blockers, and decisions required.

Chief AI Operations Officer
Your AI delivery partner
You'll set the transformation delivery priorities and work with Mars to plan specialist capacity, technical dependencies and production readiness. AI and technical specialists will deliver deeper engineering, integrations, evaluation, and production reliability against the shared backlog you own.

Organizational Effectiveness Manager
Your Asana workflow partner
You'd work with Rosalle to understand how teams use Asana, where tasks stall or ownership becomes unclear, and how exception alerts and recovery actions should fit into existing Asana workflows. She'd help you test whether managers can use those workflows to resolve issues in their own teams.

VP, Digital Experience & Conversion
Your digital operations partner
You'll identify and deliver AI improvements across digital experience and conversion workflows, agreeing baselines, acceptance criteria, and business outcomes. Yash will own his function's results and day-to-day use; you'll remain accountable for delivery, adoption and verified impact through handover.
What You'll Own
Set priorities and verify business impact
Build and own the company-wide AI improvement portfolio across marketing, customer experience, retail, finance, recruiting, operations, and delivery. Prioritize opportunities by value, feasibility, effort, and potential for reuse.
Compare deployed workflows with credible baselines for human effort, cycle time, output quality, and business results. Include review, rework, software and maintenance costs, and distinguish capacity released from cash savings.
Give leadership a concise view of realized impact, delivery progress, material blockers, and decisions required.
Test advances likely to matter over the next 12–24 months, and translate the evidence into deployment, replacement, or investment decisions that fit Puffy's systems.
Over six months, expand proven approaches across priority workflows, improve commercial or operating outcomes, and reduce dependence on the CEO and central AI team for routine discovery, implementation and use.
Redesign workflows and deliver solutions
Start with the required business outcome. Challenge unnecessary steps, approvals, and handoffs before automating the remaining work.
Combine fast improvements using current tools with deeper changes where the implementation economics justify them.
Personally prototype, and implement workflows using AI workspaces, agents, skills, connectors, scheduled or event-driven automation, and low-code tools. Decide when to configure, buy, or commission custom engineering.
Own delivery from discovery through rollout and verified impact. Set acceptance criteria, functional owners, milestones, and technical dependencies; direct the AI team and specialist resources against one prioritized backlog within agreed budgets.
Retain accountability through implementation and handover, ensuring the resulting workflow meets the functional owner's acceptance standards and has a clear operating owner.
Build adoption, ownership and reuse
Turn successful implementations into reusable workflows, shared components, and practical guidance. Enable managers and employees to identify improvements, challenge existing processes and use AI effectively in daily work.
Establish local ownership, training, support routes, and escalation criteria so routine use works without your involvement or a specialist handling every request. Adapt proven approaches to different teams' needs.
By 60 days, demonstrate accepted improvements in multiple functions, including at least one successful approach reused beyond its original team.
By 90 days, show sustained adoption, verified net benefits, and routine operation under functional owners, with clear monitoring, support, and maintenance. Agree quantitative targets from the initial baselines.
Improve operational intelligence and reliability
Build automated monitoring, KPI views, exception routing, and recovery workflows where they improve execution. Maintain clear metric definitions, data sources, owners, and completion standards; reduce noisy alerts and manual chasing.
Set appropriate access permissions, approval boundaries, evaluation, monitoring, and fallback paths.
Partner with functional owners on sensitive decisions, retaining human approval for compensation and consequential people decisions.
Track sustained adoption and reliability, resolve recurring failures and retire ineffective solutions.
What You Bring
What you must demonstrate
8+ years in business operations, business systems, product operations, or transformation, with experience leading cross-functional change and delivering measurable business results.
AI-enabled workflows you personally originated and deployed across at least two business functions. You can explain the baseline, your contribution, sustained adoption, verified results, and who operates each solution today.
Strong practical proficiency with LLMs, agents, integrations, and automation. You can build and demonstrate a working prototype, assess its limitations, and guide production delivery.
Commercial and systems judgment across workflow simplification, prioritization, data quality, evaluation, and implementation economics. You can distinguish a promising demonstration from a dependable operating improvement.
Leadership that secures adoption, develops team capability, and establishes ownership. You can challenge senior stakeholders constructively and make progress without becoming the permanent coordinator.
A record of adapting your approach as technology improves. You choose tools on evidence and business fit, and can explain when conventional automation or a simpler process is sufficient.
Additional advantages
Experience in e-commerce, direct-to-consumer, digital, or another fast-moving operating environment.
Familiarity with APIs, SQL, task-management systems, BI, and automation platforms. Demonstrated delivery matters more than a particular certification or tool brand.
WEEK 1
— Land well
You meet the CEO, AI leadership, and the department leaders you'll partner with on transformation. You get to know the business, customer journey, priorities, and AI work already underway. You receive access to the relevant systems, Asana training, and your role-specific AI-Native Starter Pack.
WEEK 2
— Get the full picture
You examine priority workflows with their functional owners and establish baselines for human effort, cycle time, output quality, and business results. You identify unnecessary steps, dependencies and the costs of review, rework and ongoing operation, then assess opportunities by value, feasibility, effort, and reuse.
WEEK 3
— Start contributing
You agree the initial opportunity portfolio and delivery priorities with the CEO and functional leaders. You set owners and acceptance criteria, then personally build and test initial improvements using available tools while planning specialist delivery where needed.
WEEK 4
— Your first ship
You deliver initial improvements, building on work already underway, and review them against the agreed acceptance criteria and baselines. You put operating ownership, support and monitoring in place, and share the prioritized portfolio, early evidence, and next delivery milestones with the CEO.

Arthur Andreasyan, Puffy CEO, Founder & Forbes Council Member
Hi there,
If you're reading this, you're probably asking whether Puffy is the right place for your next chapter. I founded Puffy in 2017 after a simple question: "What would it feel like to sleep on a cloud?" That question became a business, and I wanted to build a company where ambitious people could grow with us.
That same mindset is why we became AI-first in December 2023, well before it became a standard way of working. We move quickly, stay relentless and hungry, question the usual way of doing things, and give people real ownership. We believe a focused team can outperform much larger companies. What matters here is the quality of your work, the decisions you make, the problems you solve before anyone asks, and the impact you create.
If you join us, I'll expect a lot from you, and I'll make sure you have the trust, context, and support to do meaningful work. If that kind of challenge excites you, I'd be glad to have you build Puffy with us.
Looking forward to working with you,
ArthurA

Why do I have to take an online test if I have the relevant skills and experience?
After a successful application review, we invite selected candidates to our online skills test. It's a consistent, structured way for you to demonstrate your skills, assessed against the same criteria as every other candidate. It’s also a great way for you to see if our work is the right fit for your ambition. Candidates who pass the assessment move to Phase 2, the case study challenge.
Is there an expiry date for the online test? When do you expect me to complete the online assessment?
The invitation link for the online test only expires once the position is filled. However, our hiring process moves quickly, so we highly recommend you complete it as soon as you can.
Please note these important details:
Session Time: Once started, the test has a 4-hour inactivity timer before it auto-submits your answers.
Returning Candidates: If you applied for this same role within the last 6 months, our system may use your previous assessment score. In this case, you may be taken directly to a confirmation page.
Top Tip: The invitation email may go to your spam or junk folder, so please check there if you haven't received it.
If you still encounter any issues, please reach out to us at careers@puffy.com.
