Own vendor evaluation and companywide negotiations for a $1Billion+ e-commerce brand. Make the case for what Puffy buys, renews or walks away from.
We've been AI-first since December 2023: The platforms this company runs on are AI-native, and an internal AI team builds on the tools we adopt as new products come up for evaluation. The Opportunity
You'll own vendor evaluation and companywide commercial negotiations at Puffy.com, a $1Billion+ e-commerce brand, across software platforms, shipping and logistics providers, agencies, manufacturers and suppliers. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll lead evaluations and negotiations within approved authority, with platform evaluation as your primary focus and agreements approved and executed by authorized signatories. This is a full-time, hands-on individual contributor position for someone who personally produces decision-ready analysis primarily through AI, verifies the evidence and leads the negotiation.
*This position is remote. If you would rather be based in Dubai, we provide visa sponsorship and full relocation support, and salaries in the UAE are not subject to personal income tax. Full details under Where You'll Work.
The Problems You'll Own:
Primary: Better capability without unnecessary commitments
Puffy already operates a broad platform portfolio and evaluates new AI tools alongside vendors across the business. A department's request may reflect a real need, but the best answer could be an existing platform, a different supplier or no purchase at all. Headline pricing alone does not reveal migration costs, implementation effort, administration or the commercial constraints of a contract. The challenge is deciding which commitments are genuinely worthwhile, with evidence strong enough to support both selection and negotiation.
Secondary: Commercial choice before deadlines close
Contractual notice dates determine how long the business has to renew, replace or exit on its own terms. When spend, ownership, usage and commitments are not considered together, overlap and renewal risk can remain hidden until negotiating time has run out. The challenge is making portfolio exceptions visible early enough for informed decisions, while proving that commercial improvements survive implementation and adoption.
Resources Provided:
You’ll have access to our latest company-provided AI tools, including ChatGPT and Claude, multiple AI agents, bots, plugins, AI projects, and automations through platforms such as n8n. You’ll also receive the department tools, relevant data, assets and specialist support needed to deliver your work. We expect you to use these resources to automate routine work and deliver high-quality results quickly.
Decision-making authority:
You lead the evaluation and commercial process; ownership of negotiations does not confer unrestricted purchasing or signing authority.
You can decide independently:
Evaluation methods: Choose research, comparison and trial approaches within the agreed brief and existing approved tool access; challenge purchase requests and test credible alternatives.
Negotiation strategy: Set the approach to commercial discussions within approved objectives and limits, and develop recommendations on selection, renewal, consolidation, replacement or cancellation.
Priorities and workflow: Sequence work within agreed priorities by business impact, contractual deadlines and complexity; improve internal analysis and documentation without creating new commitments.
Approval required:
Commitments and execution: Secure Finance validation and relevant technical, compliance and legal reviews. Obtain approval and execution by authorized signatories before committing the business.
Exceptions and resources: Escalate decisions beyond approved authority to the CEO with a recommendation, including changed commercial limits, new spend, paid trials or additional resource commitments.
Data and production changes: Obtain approval before sharing sensitive contracts or company information with a new tool, or changing live integrations and automated workflows. Agree changes to business priorities with the relevant owner.
Department owners retain responsibility for adoption and service delivery. You coordinate closure and hand over the agreed commitments, with Finance and specialists accountable for their respective reviews.
Who You'll Work With
Meet the team you'd be working with, and what you'd work on together:

CEO & Founder
You'd report to him directly
You report directly to the CEO and bring clear vendor recommendations with trade-offs and costs across the full contract term. You own the evaluation and negotiation strategy within approved authority, and escalate decisions that require approval with a clear recommendation.

Accounting Manager
Your partner in validating commercial value
You’ll work with Raj to assess the full economics of vendor decisions and verify the benefits after agreements take effect. Together, you’ll distinguish recurring savings, one-off recoveries and payment-timing benefits, so reported improvements reflect what the business actually realizes.

Chief AI Operations Officer
Your partner in platform evaluation and automation
You’ll work with Mars to test AI tools and their capabilities against real business needs, assess integration and implementation requirements, and automate vendor research, renewal alerts and spend or usage exceptions.
What You'll Own
Procurement and Commercial Responsibilities
Vendor and platform evaluation is the primary focus, alongside personal ownership of companywide negotiations and portfolio value.
Clarify the business need: Define the problem and success criteria with department owners. Challenge whether a new purchase is needed or an existing platform can meet the requirement.
Research and compare vendors: Use AI to produce vendor research and comparisons quickly, verify material claims and identify credible alternatives. Assess capability, integrations and total cost, including migration, internal implementation effort and ongoing administration.
Test capabilities: Run focused demos and trials with business owners and technical specialists. Test AI capabilities against real use cases and document the evidence supporting the decision.
Deliver recommendations: Produce clear recommendations with trade-offs, costs and next steps. Commit to timelines, distinguish research from vendor-dependent testing and escalate blockers with proposed solutions.
Lead companywide negotiations: Lead all vendor, supplier and service-provider negotiations across departments, from strategy through agreement. Consolidate requirements and personally own commercial discussions within approved authority.
Structure the commercial deal: Set targets, validate alternatives, plan concessions and model total economics. Negotiate pricing, usage tiers, renewal increases, commitments, service terms and exit flexibility.
Negotiate carrier agreements: Negotiate carrier agreements, including FedEx, using shipment profiles from Operations. Assess rates, dimensional-weight rules, surcharges, minimum charges and volume commitments.
Coordinate approval and handoff: Bring together department owners, Finance and technical, compliance and legal specialists. Secure approval and execution by authorized signatories, then hand over agreed commitments to the owner responsible for implementation, adoption or service delivery.
Maintain portfolio visibility: Maintain one accurate view of platform and other vendor contracts, spend, owners, usage, commitments and renewal or cancellation notice dates.
Lead portfolio decisions: Lead renewal, consolidation, replacement and cancellation decisions within approved authority. Work with business owners to address underuse, overlapping tools and vendor performance gaps.
Automate and verify value: Partner with the AI team to automate research workflows, renewal alerts and spend or usage exceptions. Verify realized commercial benefits with Finance.
Procurement and Commercial Outcomes
Decision-ready evaluations: Deliver timely, evidence-backed recommendations that meet business requirements and let senior leaders act without rebuilding the analysis or negotiation strategy.
Protected renewal choices: Complete renewal or exit decisions before contractual notice deadlines, with reliable portfolio visibility and timely reminders.
Realized commercial value: Achieve Finance-validated improvements while protecting vendor quality and adoption, with less avoidable manual work and rework.
First 90 days: Establish a reliable contract inventory, resolve urgent renewal risks, own active evaluations and negotiations, and close priority commercial decisions. Partner with the AI team to activate portfolio alerts and establish a prioritized improvement plan, initial outcomes and agreed performance baselines.
Quality Standards
Verified evidence: Personally check AI-produced claims, calculations, trade-offs and costs across the full contract term, including migration, implementation and administration.
Accurate commercial records: Keep contract, spend, usage, ownership, commitments and notice dates accurate enough to support decisions and handoffs.
Defensible benefit reporting: Report recurring savings, one-off recoveries and payment-timing benefits separately, validated with Finance and measured alongside vendor quality and adoption.
Delivery Pace
Fast, reliable execution: Deliver high-quality work quickly against agreed timelines. Track evaluation cycle times and on-time delivery, separating internal research time from vendor-dependent testing.
Early contribution and prioritization: Contribute early to active evaluations and negotiations. Prioritize by business impact, contractual deadlines and complexity; escalate blockers promptly with proposed solutions and follow through with limited senior intervention.
What You Bring
What you must demonstrate
Relevant experience: 5+ years of experience in procurement, vendor management or commercial negotiation.
Personal delivery: Demonstrated success evaluating technology vendors, with personal ownership of negotiations across multiple supplier categories and measurable commercial outcomes.
Contract fluency: Close attention to detail and fluency in contract language, with the persuasion to hold a position in a live negotiation.
Commercial analysis: Strong critical thinking and commercial analysis: you can challenge assumptions, compare total economics and recommend the best business outcome.
Demonstrated hands-on use of AI for vendor research, commercial comparisons and contract analysis. You can explain or reproduce a repeatable workflow, show how you verified material claims and calculations, and demonstrate how it improved a business decision, delivery speed or accuracy.
Product evaluation: Confidence evaluating AI and software products through demos and trials, including usage-based pricing, integration requirements and implementation constraints.
Execution and prioritization: A record of fast, reliable execution across concurrent priorities, prioritizing evaluations and negotiations by business impact, contractual deadlines and complexity, with clear recommendations and follow-through that requires limited senior intervention.
Communication and collaboration: Clear written communication, confident vendor conversations and effective collaboration with department owners, Finance, compliance and technical specialists.
Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Additional advantages
Complex service contracts: Experience negotiating parcel-carrier, logistics or similarly complex service contracts.

Arthur Andreasyan, Puffy CEO, Founder & Forbes Council Member
Hi there,
If you're reading this, you're probably asking whether Puffy is the right place for your next chapter. I founded Puffy in 2017 after a simple question: "What would it feel like to sleep on a cloud?" That question became a business, and I wanted to build a company where ambitious people could grow with us.
That same mindset is why we became AI-first in December 2023, well before it became a standard way of working. We move quickly, stay relentless and hungry, question the usual way of doing things, and give people real ownership. We believe a focused team can outperform much larger companies. What matters here is the quality of your work, the decisions you make, the problems you solve before anyone asks, and the impact you create.
If you join us, I'll expect a lot from you, and I'll make sure you have the trust, context, and support to do meaningful work. If that kind of challenge excites you, I'd be glad to have you build Puffy with us.
Looking forward to working with you,
ArthurA
